Yesterday, Jarrod, Elliot, & I ventured into the outside world for our doctor's appointment! Nothing has really changed. I'm still having a ton of contractions, but they're not being productive. Now, I'm still technically on bed rest, but Doc said I could go to a movie or to dinner if I absolutely HAVE to get out of the house!
Elliot is no longer breech, so instead of kicking my bladder, she's kicking my diaphragm, and punching my bladder. Awesome. ;)
Other than that, there's not much else to update...so until next week...

UPDATE: Bed Rest - Day Cinco
A mother's joy begins when new life is stirring inside... when a tiny heartbeat is heard for the very first time, and a playful kick reminds her that she is never alone.
Sorry if this seems all scattered. I write as I remember things!
Laying in bed has been the best time for Elliot and I to bond (ie. let her kick the snot out of me)! I've even found different positions that make her kick me, and others that highly suggest she stop!
As of today, my contractions have become fewer, but they are still just as strong. I've finished my antibiotic, and there hasn't been much of a change since then. My hormone pills seem to be working, but just in the sense that I haven't been getting sick since I've started taking them...This is a big change from the all day morning sickness I've had since I was 4 weeks pregnant! I might request she leave me on those for a while ;) Tomorrow I'll call the doc and see if we can get on some different contraction medicine.
Here of some things I dream of if/when I get off bed rest:
1. Going outside
2. Walking
3. Doing laundry (scary, right?!)
4. Driving
5. Grocery shopping (I know...it's THAT bad!)
6. Date night with Jarrod
7. Going out to eat
8. Not have some one wait on me hand and foot (although, it is nice at times!)
On a more positive note, the nice thing about being on bed rest is I don't have to go out in this awful weather, and I get to stay in my sweats all day!

Bed Rest is Not As Fun As Resting in Bed
ALL OF THIS IS AFTER I'VE HAD A TON OF CONTRACTIONS, AND SPENT THE DAY IN THE HOSPITAL GETTING TESTS RUN ON MONDAY (1/31/11):
Elliot Josslyn is bound and determined to make and early appearance! This girl does NOT believe in being fashionably late, and has inherited the Edwards gene of being early to EVERYTHING!
Much to Jeremy and Stephanie's delight, I'm pretty sure Elliot will enjoy playing soccer. "How do I know this," you ask? She's already using my bladder for kicking practice! While I much rather her in this position than the yoga one she was trying out late last week/this weekend (she was sitting on her left foot, and her right foot was by her head!), the sensation of having to pee every 3 seconds is NOT COOL!
Results from Monday's tests:
I seem to be "severely dehydrated" which is causing all of my contractions. My doctor has put me on medicine to stop them, so we will see how this works out!
One of the tests they ran checked to make sure Elliot's heart is still beating well and that my cervix isn't thinning out/dialating (TMI?!). As a result, we got to see our baby girl!
Elliot's stats:
Height: 1' ??"
Leg length 6" (I'm already preparing her to shop in the "tall" section of stores!)
Foot length 2" (These are definitely not Edwards/Deary feet!) - Jarrod has already told me that we can order her shoes online, so she doesn't get embarrassed at the store while trying on super big size shoes!
Weight: 1lb 12 oz.
Brain: present (Lauren and Jarrod can confirm)
Nose: cute as a button
We also saw her wave to us, cover her face, stretch out her legs, kick, punch, and swallow! Our little girl is sooooooooooo talented already!
Because my medicines and 4350986209871132987 ounces of water hadn't worked, my doctor decided to see me again yesterday (2/3/11). Here are the updates...
Bad news:
Jill is officially on bed rest. Please pray that Elliot quits trying to make an early appearance and for my sanity as I will be staring at a wall all day for at least the next two weeks!She has also increased the medicine to stop contractions. If this doesn't work, we have two other medicinal options. If that doesn't work, she will give me a steroid to boost Elliot's lung development and stick me in the hospital for observation. Just remember, all of this is JUST IN CASE!
Good news:
As of this afternoon, Elliot shouldn't be coming for another 3 weeks.
I also found out this morning that my boss is allowing me to work from home! This is such a blessing!!!!
Not really bad news...not really good news (relatively speaking):
My doctor thinks Elliot will be coming somewhere between 36-38 weeks, and while she will be premature, she won't have the side effects (ADD, Downs, etc.) she could have if she came now.
Everything still looks good other than that, the doctor is just having a hard time figuring out WHY I'm having contractions. Apparently dehydration was not the issue (told ya so!!!). She has put me on two other medications, one in case I have some sort of infection, and another in case my hormones are out of whack. Both of these tests came back negative, but again, JUST IN CASE!!!
Anyways, please continue to pray for Jarrod, Elliot, and I as we adjust to everything. Also, could you please ask God to give Elliot some patience!!!
My next appointment is in a couple weeks, so I will update you all as we find out what's going on!

Elliot's Show and Tell
Yesterday, Jarrod, Elliot, and I had our 20 week dr. appointment. It started off with the ultra-sound tech, where she took measurements, counted bones, fingers, and toes. Jarrod didn't get to go in there with me at first so I tried to close my eyes so we could experience everything together. Yeah, FAT CHANCE! It was so cool to watch her just hang out inside me!
Once she was done, the actual Dr. came in to check on everything. I expressed my concern about how I have MVP, and was worried about Elliot "catching" it f
rom me. He checked out her heart and showed me all four chambers of her heart. After he showed me how perfectly her Mitral Valve is developing, he assured me IF she got it, she wouldn't develop it until she was older (not in my belly). He left and the tech came back and took tons of pictures of Elliot. She (Elliot) must have sensed my
concern about whether my doctor was right about the sex prediction, because the whole time one leg was pointed east, while the other was pointed west, and we were able to see VERY clearly that she is indeed a "she." Overall, Elliot is developing very well. She's about 6 inches long and weighs 11 oun
ces. After we had the ultra-sound, we had an actual dr. appointment with my OB. She looked over my paperwork and said everything looks great. She was VERY impressed with my blood work results. We decided to have the downs test done and the results came back that Elliot has a 1/12000 chance of having it. Other than mine, the lowest percentage she had seen was 1/300. We'll attribute that to awesome Edwards genes ;). She gave me "Tylenol Plus" for my headaches, told me to get lots of rest, and sent us on our merry way!
Here is a video of Elliot kicking...a lot. She must be getting ready for the tons of sprints she'll run in volleyball practice when she's older! ;)
I haven't been able to feel her yet that I know of, but when I do, I'll let you know!

Happy Birthday, Jesus!
First things first, we've got to get something straight. If Elliot turns out to be spoiled, it will have NOTHING to do with Jarrod and I. It will strictly be the result of her grandparents, aunts, and uncles! I've got a feeling she'll never want for anything, and we'll be cleaning out her closet often!
Now, down to business! December 2010 was our best Christmas month yet!

We started December off with the annual Chhengmas Dirty Santa Christmas Party at Sam and Grace Chheng-Prableck's house. Here we got to eat some amazing food (Jarrod came in second place for his dish) and we went home with some year old Asian chocolates (seriously?!) and some car cleaning stuff from the Shell supply closet downtown. We had such a great time, and we're looking forward to taking home first place for the "Best Food Dish" next year!
The next weekend, we had our first annual Radius Christmas Partay. This was an Ugly Christmas
Sweater Partay, and while there were some hideous sweaters (Matching ladies vests, penguins, an eagle with a santa hat, and a Kwanza one), my AWESOME husband took home the grand prize for ugliest male sweater. It was complete with two very large Christmas trees, Frosty the snowman, cotton ball snow, and battery operated Christmas tree lights. I will have you know he made this by hand and the vision is straight from his head. I'm starting to rub my creativity off on him :) We had a white elephant partay as well, and ended up going home with an awesome garage stop sign thingy. After we exchanged gifts, somehow we ended up taking awkward family photos.

We also played Battle of the Sexes...girls won...duh, and left the Dyers' house with full bellies (pun intended), a random stop sign, and lots of wonderful memories with an amazing group of people that God has blessed Jarrod and I to know.

Wednesday, after a few hours at work and in a Target parking lot, we headed north to Kingwood, and spent the evening at the Suazo's house - Jarrod's aunt and uncle. We opened gifts, ate, and walked around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights.

We got to spend the 23rd and Christmas Eve at my mom and dad's house with my brothers and their wives and kiddos. This is always special for me, because it isn't very often we all get to be together! Although this was was only my second time ever to not to get to spend Christmas Day in Opelousas, it was much different from last time. Jarrod and I got to wake up Christmas Eve and open up Gifts from "Santa" with just my parents, Jarrod, and me. I like it soooo much better this way, because it's a lot more intimate. Annnd since I wasn't going to be there for Christmas morning, I made Mom and Dad tell me, in great detail, what every single person was getting, what it looked like, what they would use it for, etc. After we had Christmas Eve lunch and opened gifts from each other, Jarrod, Elliot, Emma, Zeus, and I made our trek towards Woodville where we spent the rest of the weekend.

I didn't cry at all on our way to Woodville. You have no idea how big of a deal this is!
The rest of Christmas weekend was relaxing and laid back. We woke up Christmas morning - I woke up at 5:00 and listened to the icicle lights hit the outside wall in the "northern wind" (ahem Pop C) while the rest of the family slept soundly. Everyone else FINALLY decided to wake up and we all started opening gifts from each other and Santa. Joan, DK, Carson, and I spent the entire day in our pj's while we all lounged around the house, grazing on food/sweets, watching Christmas movies, and playing with our new toys! On Sunday after church, we had the Christmas with the Kranks...I mean Conner Christmas! Mom and Dad got to come over for this, and it was fun getting to share that with them this year!
So back to Elliot! Here are a FEW of the things she got for Christmas this year.
